Code of Conduct, Safety & Ethical Guidelines

This Code of Conduct outlines the discipline, safety principles, ethical standards, and responsibilities followed by all students, trainees, and participants enrolled in programs offered by Vishuddhi Issha Yoga & Ayurveda.

These guidelines exist to ensure a safe, respectful, focused, and authentic learning environment for yoga, Ayurveda, and related Vedic science education.

Scope of Teaching & Responsibility (Important)

All teachings, practices, and guidance provided by Vishuddhi Issha Yoga & Ayurveda are educational and lifestyle-oriented in nature.

We do not diagnose medical or psychological conditions

We do not prescribe medications or medical treatments

Our programs do not replace licensed medical, psychological, or psychiatric care

Participants are responsible for their own physical, emotional, and mental well-being and are encouraged to consult qualified healthcare professionals when necessary.

General Discipline & Classroom Conduct

To maintain the integrity of the learning environment, students are expected to:

  • Be regular and punctual for all scheduled classes and sessions
  • Wear decent, modest, and appropriate clothing suitable for yoga practice
  • Preferably white or light-colored clothing
  • Flashy, revealing, or inappropriate attire is not permitted within school or classroom premises
  • Maintain silence, attentiveness, and respect during classes
  • Avoid irrelevant conversations during sessions while feeling free to ask sincere questions
  • Be respectful, cooperative, and friendly with teachers, staff, and fellow students

Learning Discipline & Study Ethics

  • Students should focus on learning from the assigned teachers during class time
  • Reference books and external materials should be used only during personal study time, not during live sessions
  • Classes are intensive and structured; active participation is expected

Health, Safety & Practice Guidelines

For personal safety and responsible practice:

  • Asanas and pranayama should be practiced on an empty stomach or at least 4 hours after the last meal
  • Any illness, injury, emotional difficulty, or discomfort experienced during the course must be reported to teachers immediately
  • Students must practice within their personal limits and follow teacher instructions carefully

Substance-Free Learning Environment

To protect clarity, safety, and discipline:

  • Narcotic drugs, alcohol, smoking, or intoxicants are strictly prohibited
  • Vishuddhi Issha Yoga & Ayurveda follows a zero-tolerance policy regarding prohibited substances on school premises or during courses

Diet & Lifestyle During the Course

Students are strongly encouraged to follow a sattvic vegetarian diet during the training period

This recommendation supports clarity, discipline, and receptivity during intensive yogic learning

Attendance, Certification & Discipline Policy

All sessions are compulsory

Frequent absence, irregular attendance, or indiscipline may result in:

  • Disqualification from final examinations
  • Withholding of certification

Certification is not guaranteed by attendance or payment alone

Education is not treated as a commercial product; certification is awarded only on merit, discipline, performance, and ethical conduct

In serious cases of repeated indiscipline, the institution reserves the right to cancel admission without obligation to issue certification.

Course Discontinuation & Emergencies

Course discontinuation is permitted only under genuine emergency circumstances

Prior approval must be obtained from the institution with valid reasons

Course fees are non-refundable once the course has commenced

In approved cases, students may be allowed to complete the course in a future schedule within 12 months, subject to institutional approval

Examinations & Evaluation

Examinations assess both theoretical understanding and practical competence

Evaluation may include:

  • Written examinations (2–3 hours)
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Continuous assessment of discipline, ethics, and attitude

Grades and certification are awarded based on overall performance and conduct

Agreement & Acceptance of Rules

All students must review and sign the Rules & Code of Conduct:

  • In person on the first day of the course
  • Online during registration for online programs

Refusal to sign or adhere to these rules may result in removal from the program

Legal Jurisdiction

In the event of any dispute, all legal proceedings shall be subject to Goa and Indian jurisdiction only.
